Nada's paintings reflect life on the northern beaches as well as Sydney. She also paints nudes, still lives and marine scenes. The bold use of paint and colour creates an spontaneous, painterly manner. The viewer should feel a sense of happiness and see that even a humble flower or piece of fruit has its own energy. Nada's beach scenes are particularly full of life with the splashes of colour reflecting people sun-baking, surfing, fishing and swimming. Sea gulls are flying and the sail boats are sailing creating movement and life.
As a child, Nada grew up painting in oils. Her famous grandfather "Sali Herman" and well known artist "Ted Herman" both tutored her in oil painting from the age of 5 years. Nada has now been professionally painting for over 28 years having over 100 solo and group shows. Her bold paintings have been exhibited and collected throughout Australia as well as the worldwide. She uses thick brushes, palette knives and large canvases with loads of direct paint onto large canvases. You can visit Nada's unique studio home set high overlooking "Pittwater" in Avalon at anytime by appointment. At one stage all 3 generations shared this studio, now it is Nada and her 3 daughters.
